He graduated in 1987 from The City University of New York/Lehman College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management. Prior to moving from New York to Florida, he optimized his analytical, problem-solving, planning and coordinating skills in key accounting/financial positions at such Fortune 500 companies as insurance/financial services provider MetLife (total assets: $535 billion), the insurance company New York Life ($198 billion) and the financial protection firm AXA Group ($638 billion).
Among his many career achievements, Rivera is most proud of his role during the late 1990s in assisting New York Life to remain a mutual company, as well as implementing the PeopleSoft Enterprise accounting application worldwide within the AXA Group, resulting in increased productivity and accelerated performance.
Currently, Rivera is the CEO of ER Financial Services Group in Boca Raton, Fla. The company, whose motto is "committed to higher standards and outstanding results," specializes in accounting, tax and business consulting.
